New Patients

Getting started should feel simple.

Whether you are seeking primary care, mental-health care, substance-use treatment, counseling, or coordinated services, the first step is to contact Icare so we can identify the right type of appointment.

Becoming a patient

You don’t need to know the right words to begin.

Icare is one connected outpatient practice, so a single phone call can start any kind of care we offer. Describe what has been going on in your own words — the intake team listens first, then helps identify the type of appointment that may fit.

Four steps to start

A clear path from first call to next steps.

Most new patients follow the same simple sequence. The team explains anything that differs for your specific service.

  1. 01

Call 702-988-3177 and tell us, in your own words, what type of help you are looking for — primary care, mental-health care, counseling, substance-use treatment, or a combination.

  2. 02

Provide basic scheduling details and, if you plan to use insurance, your plan information so the team can help check available benefits.

  3. 03

Complete the required intake and consent forms before or at the visit. The team will tell you which forms apply to your service.

  4. 04

Meet with the appropriate clinician for an initial evaluation and leave with a plan for follow-up, referrals, or coordination, depending on what the evaluation shows.

Prepare with confidence / 02

A little preparation.
More room for you.

Gather the essentials, choose questions that matter, and take a simple visit card with you.

This is a preparation tool. It does not book an appointment. Choices stay in this page; nothing is sent to Icare. Use “Reset my selections” to clear them.

Before you arrive

Make space for the conversation.

Call first to confirm the appointment, service, and what applies to your visit. Check off what you have ready.

Your questions belong here.

Choose any prompts you want on your visit card. You can add personal notes on your own paper later.

Keep it simple

A clear next step to carry with you.

Your card brings together the clinic details, preparation checklist, and selected questions. Download or print it for your own reference.

Before leaving your appointment, ask:

What happens next, who should I contact with questions, and when should I follow up?

Your first appointment

What the first visit may include.

First visits are about understanding, not rushing to conclusions. What happens depends on the service, but most initial appointments share a few common elements.

01

A real conversation

Your clinician asks about what brings you in, your history, and what you hope care can help with.

02

A focused evaluation

Depending on the service, this may include a medical exam, a mental-health assessment, or screening questions.

03

A medication review

Current prescriptions, past treatments, and allergies are reviewed so any recommendation can be made safely.

04

A plan you understand

You and your clinician discuss next steps, which may include follow-up visits, laboratory work, or coordination with other providers.

Common questions

Practical answers for new patients.

What if I’m not sure which service I need?

You don’t need to decide before calling. Describe what has been going on and the team can help identify a starting point, which may be adjusted after evaluation.

How long will the first appointment take?

Initial visits are generally fuller than follow-ups because the clinician takes a complete history. The exact length depends on the service and the evaluation.

Can I bring a support person?

Many patients find it helpful to bring someone they trust. Mention it when scheduling; there may be portions of the visit the clinician completes with you one-on-one.

What if I already see other providers?

Tell the team during intake. With your written consent, Icare may request records and coordinate with your existing providers so care stays connected.
