Getting started

Starting care at Icare.

What services does Icare provide?

Icare offers outpatient primary care, mental-health evaluation and medication management, counseling when staffed, substance-use and recovery-focused care, care coordination, and eligible telehealth services. Exact eligibility and active services vary.

How do I become a new patient?

Call 702-988-3177, tell us the type of care you are seeking, provide scheduling and insurance information, complete the required forms, and meet with the appropriate clinician.

Do I need a referral?

Some services or insurance plans may require a referral or authorization, while others may not. Call with your plan information so the team can explain the next step.

What should I have ready when I call?

Your legal name, date of birth, insurance card if you have one, and a short description of the care you are looking for. If something is missing, call anyway.

Your visits

What appointments are like.

What happens at the first appointment?

The first visit is an unhurried conversation. The clinician reviews your history, current concerns, and medications, then talks through possible next steps with you. The new patients page explains how to prepare.

What should I bring to my first visit?

A photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, a current medication list or the bottles themselves, any relevant records, and the questions you want answered. A trusted support person is welcome, and you can still speak with the clinician privately.

Medication

Prescriptions and refills.

Can I get a medication refill without an appointment?

A refill may require an appointment, monitoring, laboratory work, or records. Request routine refills before medication runs out and use the approved clinical channel.

Do you prescribe controlled medications?

Medication decisions follow clinical evaluation, safety, monitoring requirements, and applicable law. A visit does not guarantee a prescription for any specific medication.

What if I already take medication prescribed elsewhere?

Bring a current list or the bottles to your visit. The clinician can review what you take, coordinate with your other prescribers when appropriate, and help keep the overall plan safe and consistent.

Recovery services

Substance-use and recovery care.

Do you treat substance-use disorders?

Icare provides outpatient assessment and recovery-focused treatment within its active scope, including medication treatment for opioid use disorder when clinically appropriate.

Do you provide detox or residential treatment?

No. Icare is an outpatient practice. If assessment shows that medical withdrawal management, inpatient or residential treatment, or another higher level of care is needed, the team can help identify external options.

Can you help me find recovery housing?

Icare may help identify independent community or recovery-housing resources. Availability, eligibility, quality, and placement are not guaranteed, and clinical care is not conditioned on using a specific provider.

Insurance & payment

Coverage and billing.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

Plan participation can change, so Icare doesn’t publish a plan list. Call 702-988-3177 with your insurance card and the team can help check benefit information — the insurance & payment page explains how.

Can Icare verify my insurance?

The team can help check available benefit information. Verification does not guarantee coverage or payment; final responsibility is determined by your health plan and the services provided.

Can I receive a Good Faith Estimate?

Uninsured or self-pay patients may have the right to receive an estimate for scheduled non-emergency care. Contact Icare or review the Good Faith Estimate page.

What if I don’t have insurance?

You can still request care as a self-pay patient. Ask about current self-pay arrangements when you call, and consider requesting a Good Faith Estimate before scheduled services.

Telehealth

Virtual visits.

Do you offer telehealth?

Telehealth may be available for eligible services when the patient’s location, clinical need, insurance, and current rules allow it. Some concerns require in-person evaluation.

What do I need for a telehealth visit?

A reliable connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private, safe place to talk. The team explains how to connect when the visit is scheduled. See the telehealth page.

Can prescriptions be issued through telehealth?

Sometimes. Certain medications can be managed by telehealth when clinically appropriate, while others require in-person evaluation or monitoring under applicable law. The clinician explains what applies to your situation.

Records & privacy

Your information.

How do I request my medical records?

Records are released with a signed authorization, following privacy law. Call 702-988-3177 or review the medical records page to learn how requests are handled.

How is my health information protected?

Icare follows federal and state privacy law. The Notice of Privacy Practices explains how information may be used and shared — including coordination with other providers involved in your care — and the rights you have over your record.
