When something changes, get the right level of care.
Icare evaluates many non-emergency medical concerns in an outpatient setting, helps determine whether testing or treatment is appropriate, and advises when a higher level of care is needed. Icare is not an emergency service — for a medical emergency, call 911.

Outpatient evaluation for non-emergency concerns.
An acute visit — sometimes called a sick visit — is for a new or changing concern that doesn’t appear to be an emergency: a symptom that started recently, a problem that isn’t improving, or a question about whether something needs treatment at all.
Icare is an outpatient primary-care practice, not an emergency room or urgent-care center. That distinction matters. Emergency departments are built for life-threatening problems. An outpatient visit is built for context: a clinician who can weigh your symptoms against your history, medications, and overall health, and help you decide what the concern may need, depending on the evaluation.

What to expect at an acute visit.
- 01
Call 702-988-3177 and describe what has changed. The team can help determine whether an office visit is an appropriate setting for the concern.
- 02
If a visit is appropriate, a clinician reviews your history and medications and asks focused questions about the symptom.
- 03
The evaluation may include vital signs, a focused exam, and testing when clinically indicated.
- 04
You and the clinician discuss a plan, which may include treatment, self-care guidance, follow-up, or referral to a different level of care.
We help match symptoms to the right setting.
The website cannot determine whether a symptom is safe for office treatment. The care team may recommend an in-person visit, testing, urgent care, emergency evaluation, or another appropriate service.
Common questions about sick visits.
Is Icare an urgent-care clinic or emergency room?+
No. Icare is an outpatient practice. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you’re unsure which setting fits a symptom, you can call and describe it.
What if symptoms get worse after my visit?+
Call the office to discuss the change. If a symptom becomes severe or feels like an emergency, don’t wait — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Can an acute concern be evaluated by telehealth?+
Some concerns may be appropriate for a telehealth visit, depending on the symptom and clinical judgment. The team can advise when you call.
